‘Bitcoin Family’ hides crypto codes etched onto metal cards on four continents after recent kidnappings.

The "Bitcoin Family", who sold all possessions in 2017 to live entirely on crypto, has abandoned hardware wallets and fragmented their $100M portfolio across four continents after a surge in crypto-targeted kidnappings. 

Patriarch Didi Taihuttu now encrypts and splits 24-word seed phrases into six-word fragments, etching some onto steel plates hidden globally. Even under duress, he can’t access most funds.

Coinbase to Integrate Base DEXs on its Main App

Coinbase announced it will integrate DEXs from Ethereum L2 Base directly into its main app, enabling users to trade any asset on Base without navigating complex DEX interfaces. 

Chief Legal Officer Paul Grewal declared, "If it’s onchain, it’s on Coinbase," signalling a major push to democratize DeFi access. Leading Base DEX Aerodrome surged 18% on the news, as its founder Alex Cutler hailed the move as an "unprecedented ecosystem growth catalyst" for Base.

Crypto Markets Plunge as Middle East Tensions Trigger Global Selloff

Bitcoin plunged to $102,900 before rebounding to $105,400, while Ethereum sank 6.3% to $2,550 as Israel’s strike on Iranian military leaders ignited a global risk-off selloff. Total crypto market cap fell 5% to $3.4T, triggering $1.11B in leveraged liquidations, the highest since February. Despite the turmoil, U.S. spot Bitcoin ETFs saw $86M inflows, and Ethereum ETFs attracted $ 112 M.

Bitcoin dev proposes excommunication for OP_RETURN ‘garbageman’

A prominent Bitcoin developer, Peter Todd proposes code to excommunicate "garbageman" nodes that sabotage his Libre Relay software, a tool enabling larger OP_RETURN data storage (up to 4MB) in Bitcoin’s mempool. 

Todd’s counterattack aims to identify and disconnect nodes filtering these non-financial transactions, escalating a long-running conflict between minimalists and those advocating expanded on-chain data use.
