Polymarket is experiencing explosive growth as it chases a potential $12 billion valuation after two consecutive record-breaking months. The decentralized prediction platform handled more than $3 billion in trading volume in October, its busiest month ever, and is on track to reach $3.5 billion in November. Much of this surge came from the high-profile New York City mayoral election, which alone attracted nearly $430 million in bets.
Aerodrome, the top DEX on Base, and Velodrome, the leading DEX on Optimism, suffered a front-end compromise early Saturday morning, and urged users to use decentralized mirror links to access the platforms.
The compromise comes nearly two years after a similar attack took down their front-ends in 2023.
Bitcoin tumbled to $82,000, triggering nearly $2 billion in crypto liquidations within 24 hours, more than $1 billion of which came from BTC alone, marking its worst monthly drop since the 2022 Terra/Luna crash.
With sentiment sinking into “extreme fear” and Bitcoin now down 34% from last month’s all-time high, analysts are warning that another crypto winter may be forming.
