Terra Founder Do Kwon Sentenced to 15 Years in Prison
A court has sentenced Terra founder Do Kwon to 15 years in prison for fraud linked to the $40 billion collapse of the Terra/LUNA ecosystem, a meltdown that helped spark the brutal 2022 crypto bear market.
Kwon, who pleaded guilty in August 2025, will serve part of his sentence in the United States before finishing the remainder in South Korea. The ruling closes a three-year legal saga that followed one of the most damaging failures in crypto history.
Coinbase gears up support for on-chain Solana token trading directly through its app
Coinbase is bringing native DEX trading for Solana-based tokens directly into its app, letting users trade on-chain assets straight from liquidity pools, no centralized exchange listing required.
Unveiled at Solana Breakpoint, the feature gives retail users earlier access to liquid Solana tokens and deepens Coinbase’s push into on-chain trading. The move also builds on Coinbase’s recent acquisition of Vector, a Solana-based platform, as the exchange expands beyond traditional CEX rails.
Aave Labs faces backlash over CoW Swap integration
Aave Labs is under fire from its community after integrating CoW Swap into the protocol’s frontend, a move delegates say redirects 15–25 basis points in swap fees away from the Aave DAO treasury. Those fees had previously flowed to the DAO through ParaSwap’s donation model.
The decision has reignited a deeper debate over monetization and DAO alignment. Aave Labs argues the frontend is a product it owns and has the right to monetize, while delegates warn the shift weakens revenue sharing and is fueling growing unrest across Aave’s governance.
Binance to advise Pakistan on $2 billion asset tokenization as country prepares stablecoin launch
Pakistan has signed a non-binding memorandum of understanding with Binance to explore tokenizing up to $2 billion in state-owned assets, including sovereign bonds, treasury bills, and commodity reserves, as it steps up its push into blockchain-based finance.
The country has also issued preliminary regulatory clearances to Binance and HTX and reaffirmed plans to launch a national stablecoin. Together, the moves signal a fast-tracked overhaul of Pakistan’s digital finance strategy, backed by new licensing frameworks, asset tokenization, and stablecoin initiatives.
