Sony, Electronics Pioneer Behind Walkman, Starts Own Blockchain 'Soneium'

Former Kansas Bank CEO Gets 24 Years in Jail After Falling for ‘Pig Butchering’ Scam
Former Kansas bank CEO Shan Hanes was sentenced to 24 years in prison for embezzling $47 million from Heartland Tri-State Bank, which he lost to a "pig butchering" cryptocurrency scam. This scam, prevalent in Southeast Asia, involves fraudsters befriending victims through social media or dating apps, convincing them to invest in crypto platforms controlled by the scammers, and ultimately stealing their funds. Hanes' actions led to the bank's collapse, causing $9 million in investor losses and the FDIC covering the $47 million shortfall.
