Crypto Markets Plunge after August Jobs Report Misses Expectations

Cryptocurrency markets dropped sharply after August's U.S. jobs report missed expectations, with Bitcoin and Ethereum falling 4% as the Crypto Fear and Greed Index hit "extreme fear" at 22. Over $71 million in long positions were liquidated, and Bitcoin ETFs saw $211 million in outflows as traders brace for potential Federal Reserve policy changes.

CFTC Pleads With Judge to Block Kalshi Election Contracts for 14 Days

The CFTC has requested a 14-day stay on the judge's ruling in favor of Kalshi, a prediction market platform, to prevent it from listing election markets. The agency argues it needs more time to decide whether to appeal, as the judge's reasoning for the decision has not yet been published.
